FLS partnered with Mirai Planet from concept to launch, designing and developing a mobile-first experience that blends personalization with a visually distinctive, collectible-driven design language.
Summary
Mirai Planet was envisioned as a character-led, content-driven mobile experience. The key goal was to create a visually engaging product inspired by collectible culture, drawing from the appeal of brands like POP MART.
FLS translated this into a unique product concept by designing Zodiac-based “Mirai” characters, each representing distinct traits and personalities. This approach allowed the app to deliver personalized experiences through a system that feels playful, expressive, and emotionally engaging.
Alongside defining the visual language, FLS structured the app experience, supported development, and brought the product to launch on Google Play.
Challenge
One of the main challenges was balancing strong visual identity with usability. While the product aimed to be expressive and visually rich, it still needed to remain intuitive and easy to navigate for a broad audience.
Another challenge was designing a character system that felt meaningful rather than decorative. The Zodiac-based Mirais needed to carry clear personality traits and integrate naturally into the user experience, supporting engagement without overwhelming the core functionality.
At the same time, building the app from the ground up required aligning creative direction with technical feasibility, ensuring that the visual complexity could be executed smoothly within a scalable mobile framework.
Solutions
FLS approached this by turning visual inspiration into a structured design system. The Zodiac Mirais were developed as a core product layer, each with defined characteristics that could support personalization and storytelling within the app.
The visual language was crafted to be bold, playful, and collectible-driven, while maintaining clarity in navigation and interaction. This ensured the app remained engaging without sacrificing usability.
From a product perspective, the app architecture and user flows were designed to support this system seamlessly, allowing users to interact with their Mirai in a natural and intuitive way. Close collaboration with development ensured that the visual and interactive elements were translated effectively into the final product.
